In 2018, I was introduced to hiking by colleagues from work. I just loved the experience of exploring the UK trails. The outdoors life reminded me of my childhood in Mampong, Ashanti Region,  Ghana.

In 2019, I invited my friend Okoe to join me on a trail. He enjoyed it too.  We are seeing parts of the UK totally new to us. Hiking was just something not done in the Black community.

My childhood friend Ben soon joined us, and then Okoe invited Kojo…and Kojo invited everyone else. Over the next 12 months, the Acorns transformed from a weekend leisure activity hiking to a group that not only hiked together, but also inspired members to exercise independently.
